In my opinion, while there are merits of a childcare centre such as a more proper education system and increased contact with similar aged children, this pales largely in comparison with the benefits that a relative would provide in terms of closer familiar ties in the future and the enhancement of the children’s cultural background.

It is understandable why some parents would prefer childcare centres as they provide a more structured education system and more often, a more conducive learning environment. Pre-school students before the age of 5 are in their most important learning period where the environment plays a huge part in stimulating the child’s growth. Childcare centres usually provide better resources such as an indoor classroom and an outdoor play area. Furthermore, it creates the opportunity for children of the same age group to come together. This is essential for the children to learn about interaction with others and aids largely in their development.
However, children attending these centres may not receive sufficient attention and care. For example, in most Australian centres, the teacher to children ratio is around 1:10. This is a stark contrast to the individualised attention that a child would receive if he is looked after by a relative instead.
Meanwhile, having a family member to care for the child since young would allow the child to form a closer and deeper bond with the said family member. Most of the times, the latter would be the grandparent. In Singapore, research shows that children from multi-generation family background maintain closer family ties in the future. They would visit their grandparents more often even when they become adults. Growing up with the elderly would also educate the child more about their cultural roots, a topic that most childcare centres struggle to teach. In Singapore, it is common for the grandparent to communicate with the grandchild in their own local dialects whereas the common language used in schools is English. Hence, most kids who grew up in childcare centres are not well-versed in speaking their own native dialects and subsequently lost touch of their cultural roots.
On the other hand, some may argue that a family member is not a licensed educator and may not understand how to aid the child’s education and development. While this could be true, in many countries, children have to attend compulsory formal education at pre-schools or kindergartens. A structured learning syllabus would be provided then.

In this regard, I feel that family members are the preferred choice as babysitters more than childcare centres as familiar ties and cultural roots are too essential for a child to be missing out.

I just give idea we also add this ideas in this essay .

Grandparents could certainly provide a fun, safe, and learning environment for a young child. Preschool & child care can also provide a fun, safe, and educational environment. I suppose the choice would have to depend on the individual circumstances/situations. It’s good to know there are plenty of good options for child care.

The first essay is easy to understand, while the second one is overfilled with complicated words and thoughts are not clear.
Thank you so much for the post! That was really helpful.
